Cohorts

Manage groups of students who progress through a program together.

A Cohort is a group of students who move through a program together, for example "Fall 2024". Cohorts belong to a program and are the bridge between a program blueprint and the classes students actually take.

What you can do with a cohort

  • Students: manage the list of students in the cohort.
  • Moderators: assign the staff who manage the cohort.
  • Gradebook: maintain a per-cohort gradebook.
  • Classes: create classes for the cohort from the program blueprint.

Creating a cohort

Open cohorts

Go to Instruction → Cohorts and select New.

Choose the parent program and name the cohort.

Add students and moderators

Populate the cohort and assign the moderators who will manage it.
