Programs

Design the academic blueprints that cohorts and classes are built from.

A Program is the long-term academic blueprint at the top of the hierarchy. It defines the structure that cohorts follow and that classes are built from.

What a program defines

A program brings together:

  • Course blueprint (program pages): the courses that make up the program.
  • Formulas and conditional expressions: how results are computed and any rules that depend on them.
  • Gradebooks: the program-level gradebook layout.
  • Transcripts: the transcript layout for the program.
  • Certificate templates: what graduates receive.

Program detail tabs

When you open a program you will find tabs for:

TabPurpose
CohortsThe groups of students following this program
FormulasConditional expressions and computed results
GradebooksThe program's gradebook layout
TranscriptsThe transcript template and its variables

Setting up a program

Create the program

Go to Academic → Programs and select New. Name it and set its structure.

Add the course blueprint

Define the program's pages and the courses it includes, drawing from the Course Catalog.

Configure grading

Set up the gradebook layout and any formulas that compute overall results.

Create cohorts

Add cohorts and then create program-based classes for them.
